Below is a poem written by one of the Danish SS volunteers in a trench on the Eastern Front in 1942\/43.<\/p>\n

And the battle cry came from Berlin.
From all countries a group reported themselves,

An army of brothers,

The crackle of machine guns\u2014
that language we can all understand.<\/p>\n
who stand as if in league with the Devil.
We fight against Stalin\u2019s guards.
Our struggle breaks the power of the beast.<\/p>\n
in the struggle for the cause of renewal,
then we quietly bow our heads
and lower our swastika flag.<\/p>\n
